On Saturday, January 29, 2011, the Pinole Exchange Club honored Captain Darren Johnson as the 2010 Firefighter of the Year.  Captain Johnson began his career as a Reserve Firefighter in 1985 and was promoted through the ranks to Captain in 1998.   Captain Johnson is currently sharing Battalion Chief duties covering the District’s Battalion 7 responses.   Darren grew up in Rodeo and is married with two teenage daughters.    The District is proud to honor Captain Johnson for his dedication to the fire service and to the communities it serves.

At a regular meeting of the Board of Directors held January 12, 2011, Directors Manly Moulton, William Prather and Raemona Williams took their seats as Directors for the Rodeo-Hercules Fire Protection District.  Family and friends attended a reception prior to the meeting.   The District looks forward to working with the newly seated Board of Directors.
