Cause: Under investigation
Incident Information:
The Rodeo-Hercules Fire District , Pinole Fire Department, Contra Costa County Fire District, and Crockett-Carquinez Fire District responded to a Residential Structure Fire with Rescue. Upon arrival, Engine 75 reported heavy smoke showing from the rear of a one story home. Neighbors and Hercules Police officers alerted the occupants of the home (two of which were sleeping) that their home was on fire, enabling their escape. The fire involved the rear wall of the home and spread to the attic. The fire was quickly extinguished and damage was isolated to the area of involvement. The living space and contents of the home were saved. There were no civilian injuries. A firefighter sustained a minor hand injury due to collapsing debris during overhaul operations. The three adult occupants of the home were displaced by the fire and received assistance with emergency housing from the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimate, 8000.00 dollars
