Property Saved: Living space of the involved apartment and four adjacent apartments units
Cause: Unattended cooking fire
Incident Information:
The Rodeo-Hercules Fire District/Pinole Fire Department/Contra Costa County Fire District (Battalion 7), and the Crockett-Carquinez Fire District responded to a Multi-Family Residential Structure Fire. Upon arrival, Engine 75 reported smoke showing and residents fleeing from the courtyard of the apartment complex. The fire involved the kitchen of a downstairs center unit of the two story apartment building. Residents of the involved unit and surrounding units were able to evacuate prior to Fire Department arrival. The fire was quickly extinguished and damage was isolated to the area of involvement. The living space and contents of the apartment were saved along with multiple adjoining units, there were no civilian or firefighter injuries. Four adults and one child were displaced by the fire and will be staying with friends. Damage estimate, 5000.00 dollars
